What exactly are girlfriend jeans? Well, if you ask me, I can tell you that they are the perfect match for the boyfriend jeans. They are both extremely comfortable, however, the girlfriend jean comes with a higher rise and it has a slimmer fit around the hips.
Some people compare this style with the mom's jeans or 90's jean, but with a more flattering fit.
I personally like to wear this style of jeans with heels, but it also looks great with a pair of chic brogues.
A few days ago, I walked away from my mailbox completely inspired by the cover photo of Instyle magazine! It is the October issue with Jennifer Garner on the cover wearing this beautiful Autumn-like outfit by Burberry Prorsum. To make the story short, this week for a relaxing day off in Asheville, I decided to wear a look with a similar vibe.
I am sure you have heard the expression "sweater weather" right about this time of the year, however, it's also the perfect time to call it "leather weather". I personally started bringing to daylight some of my leather pieces and I'm even wearing them together like in this outfit.
I don't always wear skinny jeans, but when I do, I prefer dark washes.
I also prefer skinny jeans with thinner denim and with stretch, because they feel more comfortable all the way around. Last year I discovered Maria, a high-rise skinny jean with a perfect amount of stretch and comfortable all around. They are also great with tall boots, because they perfectly hug the lower legs. So far, I am very happy with this style.
This is a very simple and high contrast combo, however, I could also call it minimalist because the lack of jewelry or extra accessories. In this opportunity, a snow leopard print bag was all I needed to bring this look from boring to fun.
On my first attempt putting this outfit together, I paired this polka dot shirt with black jeans, however, I didn't feel that it was exciting enough. Then, I quickly passed the shirt next to all my skirts and soon enough this striped skirt stood out.
I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend so far. The weather in North Carolina just started to feel a little bit cooler, so I took advantage of this subtle change of weather and I wore this warm tartan shirt.
Rich browns are one of my favorite shades for fall and mainly when they are worn with a Folk-inspired look like this one. The rich colored denim skirt was the perfect piece to add some contrast to this brown bonanza.
If you follow me on Instagram you will recognize this combo, which I called the "perfect combo". It's no brainer that leopard print paired with any type of red is a fun and yet a classic combination.
Khaki and black trench coats are very popular, but you don't see too many people investing in a bright colored trench like this red one and maybe it's because we fear opting for a color that will not be versatile. When I bought this trench coat almost a decade ago I had the same doubts, however, soon enough after I purchased it I was surprised by its versatility. Here, it's 10 years later and I still believe this coat is a stylish and fashionable piece. This vibrant red color cheers me up and brings fun to my outfits on windy or rainy days like today.
The grape harvest season has started here in North Carolina, which beckons me to make more frequent trips to my favorite vineyards. If you've been following me for a while, you probably noticed that when I go to vineyards I tend to wear bohemian inspired looks accompanied with a large brim hat.
Yesterday wasn't the exception, I wore a light-weight jersey dress with summery brogues and my warm colored hat.
What better way to start a new month than having some fun with fashion? Here I'm playing around with fun patterns and this time I chose a midnight floral print and classic red and white stripes. I wore a solid and wide colored belt to break the patterns and accentuate my waist. The bag and shoes are more quiet choices, however, they were perfect choice to ground this busy look.
