I crave for maxi dresses mostly around spring or summer time, however, I couldn't wait until spring in order to wear this sweet tie-dyed maxi dress. Some people consider tie-dye as very hippie and I can understand if isn't everyone's cup of tea. I personally don't mind tie-dye when is done in denim or with neutral contrasts like the one in this dress.
At first, I tried this dress with my biker black jacket, it looked ok, but the dress was drawing too much of the attention (maybe great for warmer seasons), because the jacket was short and most of the dress was exposed. For this time of the year, I prefer a more discreet and elongated effect in a tie-die dress, therefore, I decided to go my midi olive trench. I love how maxi and midi lengths look together in this look and I appreciate how the dress still remains obvious, but isn't overwhelming.
There are two components in this outfit that really excite me the most, which are my vintage sequined blouse and my new flared jeans. I only had one piece with sequins in my wardrobe, which I wore around the holidays (see it here), however, I wanted to find a light sequined blouse so I could dress it down with denim. I also needed to update my old pairs of flare jeans that I wore so much to a point that they started sagging around my legs and rear area (hopefully it was the jeans and not me). I actually was looking for a more fitted style and with a thinner fabric.
I was lucky to find both items in the same week, so I couldn't wait to wear them together. I'm also planning to wear this blouse with boyfriend white or lighter wash jeans for an even more relaxed look.
I hope you have a wonderful hump day!
Here I'm with this cape feeling like a hero trying to safe the world and hoping a strong wind make my cape flow gracefully…lol.
Last week I was shopping at one of my favorite local vintage stores and while looking for some cute jewelry, Brad ( my boyfriend) approached me wearing this cape…I really laughed so hard, but at the same time I knew exactly what he wanted. He said to me: "honey, you don't have a cape and I'm the hero that is going to buy this one for you." He also said: "the only weird thing are these buttons that look like nipples, maybe you can move them up or completely remove them." Well, to make the story short, here I'm enjoying my new vintage cape and I left the
nipples buttons alone. They make a cute jingle bell sound when I move the cape around ;-)
Happy Monday Everyone!
Someone asked me a few days ago why I like vintage clothing. I love wear vintage items because I feel like I'm bringing back to life someone else's story from another era. Vintage pieces are very often unique, therefore they can add a one-of-the-kind look to our outfits. I personally love to combine vintage with contemporary in order to create fun and unique ensembles. For example, in this look I'm sharing with you today, I'm wearing a 70's floral dress (reminded me of YSL spring collection) with a new hat (vintage inspired) and my calf hair modern booties. I wanted to add a warm touch to this black and white floral dress, so I decided to pair it with a whiskey shade jacket (vintage) in order to achieve an interesting contrast. As you can see, I've combined new and vintage, which helps me express my own personal style.
Another reason why I'm drawn to vintage is the price factor. You can find extraordinary vintage pieces for a very reasonable price; something that you will not be able to find with similar new pieces.
Almost half of my wardrobe comes from vintage items, because besides being unique, fun and affordable, they're also green friendly, not contributing to the piles of trash all over this planet.
As I mentioned in another post, I've been updating my denim stack, because I want to wear this fabric more often. One of my favorite style of jeans are the boyfriend, but I wanted an upgrade on my old pairs. Per example I've been wearing my 501 jeans by Levi's for many years now, however, they just came out with the new 501 CT. It's an updated version of the old classic. The leg is more tapered, therefore, easier to pair with any type of shoe, so I immediately felt in love with them all over again.
I didn't have a very light washed jean, so I decided to introduce this color and newer style to my wardrobe. I really like how they look in this outfit with my Burberry green trench and simple pumps.
It's only mid January and I already miss the warm weather. I don't know about you, but I personally can never get used to winter (I'm originally from an all-year-round warm weather country) and I always tend to get the blues here and there when the weather is cold and the sky is grey. So one of the things I do in order to cheer up around this time of the year besides enjoying a glass of red wine or working out, is wearing fun (to me) combinations like these two looks I'm sharing with you today.
I decided to play around with turquoise/teal type of blue and cobalt blue. I wore two different coats on that day, and I believe both coats added fun to my blues.
One of my New Year resolutions, fashion-wise, is to wear more denim, therefore, I have been updating my denim stack these past two weeks. I'm bringing in to my wardrobe more raw and light wash denim to create fun looks and mix and match as well.
In today's outfit, I wore double denim to go to brunch and also run errands around town. It was a misty day, so this time instead wearing my rain boots, I found it more appropriate to wear a pair of my new combat boots, which by the way, I've been wearing very often since the beginning of this year.
This is a casual look I wore a couple weeks ago while visiting Tybee Island in Georgia. The weather was around 55 degrees, so it was a little chilly for wearing light clothes. To be more appropriate for the weather, I decided to wear a casual nautical look with my Hunter boots, in order to be able to enjoy the water without getting my toes wet and cold.
I hope you have a great Sunday.

It's always an honor to be featured in someone's else website, blog or magazine and in order to never forget these blessings, I have been adding them here as I find them.
This my very first time that I found out that one of my looks was featured in an actual paper magazine.
To me it's a tremendous accomplishment and at the same time it motivates me to continue sharing my fashion style.
Thanks Instyle magazine for such wonderful surprise and for continue inspiring women all over the world and thanks so much to my readers and followers for your unconditional support.
Some people consider Fair Isle an old fashioned pattern, but in my opinion, it is more like classic and preppy. I actually find it very fun, mainly when it's mixed with other classic prints like leopard (as I wore it here) and stripes, as I decided to wear it today.
This is a very casual outfit that I wore a few weeks ago to run errands before Christmas. To get things done around town comfortably, I tend to wear flat shoes or sneakers with boyfriend jeans and since the weather was cold, I decided to layer this baggy look with a military style coat and my wool nordic scarf, which print is perfect for winter.
I spent Christmas Holidays with my family in New Orleans. I completely enjoyed the company of my loved ones, but I also enjoyed the city, which is one of my favorites in the USA. I have been posting pictures of my trip in my Instagram, however, early in the week I decided to create this post for the rest of my readers.
Happy New Year, everyone!! I really want to thank all my followers and visitors for sticking up with me throughout this past year.
Before I start posting new looks, I want to share with you a recap of 2014 outfits.
Since some of my favorite ensembles aren't always my readers favorites, I decided to post one picture of every single outfit. This is a recap from January to June and in my next post, I'll share the looks from July to December.
I hope you enjoy them and don't hesitate to let me know your favorites.
