Once again, I'm having fun with a double denim look! I personally compare denim with a white canvas, because it's so easy to accessorize regardless of the look we're going for. This past Thursday I decided to add tribal touches to a double denim look by wearing an oversized necklace made in Kenya (also worn here) and a vintage handmade bag with indian drawings (also worn here with a lace dress). Obviously, these two statement pieces were more than enough to make this outfit stand out, reason why I decided to keep everything else simple and fuzz free.
I hope you have wonderful weekend and thanks for visiting my blog.
It's not a secret that I'm a huge fan of nautical style and once again, I'm sharing with you another outfit with a maritime flare.
I wore this ensemble this past Monday to celebrate Memorial Day and also for doing some shopping in downtown Winton-Salem. The weather was around 70 degrees, therefore perfect for a blazer and a pair of casual shorts. I usually don't wear a necklace when I wear a scarf on my neck, however, since this cameo lock sets lower on my chest, in my opinion, it complimented the scarf as well as the rest of my look.
I have to admit that every time I wear a jumpsuit I feel effortless chic and playful. I love the fact that they're easy to style and they can quiclky be dressed up or down by pairing them with the appropriate accessories. You maybe have noticed that Jumpsuits have been in our radar for a few seasons now and I truly believe that they're here to stay for a long time.
Once in a while I like to give my dresses and skirts a rest by wearing jumpsuits or overalls, which in my opinion they can be as feminine as any maxi dress in my wardrobe.
I styled this simple black jumpsuit with a pair of velvet wedge heels in order to give it an elegant look and appropriate for dining out. The studded belt and silver accessories added a rocker touch, which I found perfect for going to a local trendy bar after dinner.
Today's look is full of recent trends, however, they seem to compliment each other. Last month I paired this cotton woven kaftan with a sporty vibe. This time, I decided to wear it with pieces with the same vibe in order to create a harmonious yet fun look. I'm so glad espadrilles are trending again; not just because I have a few pairs in my wardrobe that are dying to see the day light, but because they're a very comfortable way to add a lady-like touch to any look.
The day of remembrance for those that served in the United States armed forces is right around the corner. I'm not originally from this country, however, I've lived here for almost 20 years, therefore, I'm also very thankful for all the men and women that have paid the ultimate price to ensure the freedom that my family and I are so privileged to enjoy.
As many of you know, besides loving bohemian looks, I also love anything that had to do with a nautical theme. Red, white and blue are obviously the colors that represent a nautical style and also the United Sates flag, hence the reason why I decided to wear a nautical look for my Memorial Day blog post.
I chose to wear my now famous Converse retro sneakers in order have a freedom of movement while spending a day off from work and enjoying our downtown new Artivity on the Green park. We also had a couple drinks in order to celebrate with a toast to one of my outfits appearing in the June print issue of People Style Watch magazine.
By the way, I want to give thanks once again, to the blogs and websites that had interviewed me or had one of my outfits featured in your blog posts or magazines pages. It's always a great honor for me to see my style inspiring others.
I have received a quiet few emails from my readers suggesting a vineyard style category. My boyfriend and I thought that was a great idea, since we both love to visit Yadkin Valley wineries very often. I'll be working on this project and labeling my posts in order to come up with this category soon, and I will name it "Wine Country Style". If you're following me on Instagram you should know by now that I love wine, therefore, I love trying on different wines from North Carolina area. Every time I visit a winery, I think about what to wear and what will be appropriate for the weather at the moment. My mood usually craves for outfits with a bohemian flare when going to vineyards, and I guess is because the landscaping and atmosphere compliments this type of dress code.
In this opportunity, we went back to Raffaldini Vineyards and Winery after a busy day around the house. When the weather is warm or even in Fall, we love to come here and enjoy the view while sipping their delicious wine. The view is terrific, you can see from the deck a wonderful belt of North Carolina Mountains. My favorite part from this winery besides their summer wine, is the yellow roses fence that adorn the dirt road entrance. This place is a combination of rustic and sophisticated touches, which pretty much screams my name.
In this occasion, I decided to wear an off-the-shoulder blouse with a pair of sweet gladiator sandals. I wanted to keep a good balance with my look, therefore, I decided to cover most of my legs with a midi-skirt, that way my shoulders are the only ones doing the talk. A necklace was completely out of the question, however, a large pair of chandelier earrings seemed to be a better idea to wear with an off-the-shoulder top. No hat? Well, sometimes I want to let other pieces stand out and hats can easily steal the attention.
As I mentioned before in this blog, I've fallen in love with army green color, (see more looks here, here, here, here and here). I love the way army green looks with other neutral colors (perfect for a safari look) and sometimes I like to spice it up with colorful pieces. This time I decided to wear this pair of high-rise army green pants with an oversized khaki shirt over a bodysuit. I left the shirt out for a flowey easy look, and wore my dark tan heel sandals to compliment my earth tone colored ensemble.
I wanted to add a colorful touch to my monochromatic skirt and nude colored stilettos by wearing a bright yellow top. This is the happiest t-shirt I own and it has become my favorite, because of its color and the Chiquita banana emblem. I'm also wearing my adorable bag with silver hardware (so much needed) and cute tassel by Valentino. I love its size and the length of the strap, which is intended to be worn as crossbody, which I did after the photo shoot.

Thanks to the semi-chunky platform and braided raffia wedge heel, these type of shoes give you substantial height without being impossible to walk in! I love all type of espadrilles myself, but sometimes when I need to tone down a busy print or a colorful look, I opt for a solid colored style. I find gold colored espadrilles a little more luxurious than other colors and the high heel version can help to elongate my legs. Espadrilles in general are timeless and if you give them a good care, they can last you a very long time.

I know you have seen this dress before in this blog styled in a similar way, but also styled with more dressy pieces. My boyfriend calls it "doily dress" and most of us will call it "lace dress, either way, I think this type of dresses are femenine and also easy to wear and the best part, no ironing needed.
As I do with several of my looks, I paired this dress with a ethnic/tribal handmade piece which I recently found at a local vintage shop. As soon I saw this bag, I knew I had to have it!!! The drawing reminded me of the Mayan calendar and some of their symbols, therefore, I thought it was the perfect bag to be worn by a Mayan descendant.
I hope you have a wonderful day and I wish a Happy Mother's day to my incredible mother in Honduras and to all the sweet and devoted moms in the world. This glass of wine toast is for you!!!
I've always enjoyed seeing gauchos dressed with their bolero style hats, cotton white shirts and wide legged pants tucked inside their tall boots. So, earlier in the week, I came up with my own version of the South American cowboy look. Instead of a pair of wide legged pants, I wore my skinny flare black jeans belted with a vintage hand-painted Mexican belt (mixing cultures here) and cotton tunic. I didn't feel like wearing boots, because of the fear of looking too costume-y, so I decided on a pair of dark tan platforms. I guess this is a gaucho look with my own twist.
Today Mexicans celebrate the anniversary of the battle of Puebla and in my house my boyfriend and I celebrate our 5th year together. You better believe we will be celebrating both ocassions around town, eating some tacos al Pastor and maybe later in the week we'll stop by a couple wineries.
Yesterday, for our Monday brunch tradition, I decided to wear not quite a Mexican top, but a Honduran one (also seen here). However, it has a similar type of embroidery as the popular Mexican kaftans. I wore my red mini-skirt (also worn here) and simple sandals in order to add an urban touch and, last but not least, I decorated my left arm with a stack of vintage lucite bangles. I know that I've worn them a lot in this blog lately--but I really can't get enough of them.
A denim shirtdress can be as versatile as a little black dress, reason why I was so eager to find the right one for me. In this occasion, I decided to pair it with another denim piece to create the famous double denim trend. I'm a huge fan of denim on denim looks and I personally prefer to create this combo with pieces of different shades of blue.
The season for frequent visits to vineyards is here again and the time for groovy photo shoots (see more looks: 1, 2, 3 and 4). As I have said repeatedly, I love bohemian style and every time I visit these places I like to dress that way. The first time I wore this tie dye maxi dress was in the winter, so I had to wear a coat and boots. The temperatures are still a bit cold, so this time I also had to layer.
Before I leave you, I want to thank Fabulous After 40 for my recent interview and for finding my blog and my style worthy of sharing with their fabulous readers.
