Today, I'm wearing a style trick with my suede trench, inspired by Balenciaga's Autumn/Winter 2016 collection. Yes, it's a very interesting way to style a coat. Basically, you wear your coat like a lady-like shrug exposing your shoulders. On a cold weather day, we are only able to show our coats and shoes when going outside, but with this style trick, you will have the opportunity to show your inner garment. If you feel like trying this trend, just make sure that button or zip your coat at the waist and secure it with a belt in order to keep it in place. This time I used a scarf just for adding a playful touch.
WHAT I WORE:
Suede trench: Vintage. Similar/Leopard Dress: Zara. Similar/Scarf: H&M. Similar/Western Boots: Gucci. Similar/Sunglasses: Givenchy (vintage) Similar/Messenger Bag: Coach. (vintage). Similar/Hoop earrings: Michael Kors (on sale)/Snake bracelet: Vintage (similar)
I wore this outfit for touring a historic village here in North Carolina and also for drinks and dinner with my husband. That day, I received compliments from a few ladies, they really liked the way I was wearing my coat. I personally enjoyed this style and soon I will be trying with other coats or jackets.
By the way, another styling trend that I use today was matching my boots with my coat. The colors don't match exactly, but this is how it works the best. Wearing pieces of the same hue but in different shades makes a matchy-matchy look, more interesting and dimensional.
