Rustic Look With My New Espadrilles.

By now you should have figured out that I'm addicted to espadrilles. In fact, I believe after classic pumps, espadrilles are my favorite style shoe. The pair I'm wearing today is my newest pair. I brought  these espadrilles with me on my Colorado vacation and I wore them for casual date nights with my husband in Boulder. I keep telling people that my wedge espadrilles are my high-heel sneakers. These babies are almost all-terrain; seriously, I walk with them almost everywhere.
I own 4 pairs right now and I'm constantly wearing them with jeans, dresses, skirts...you name it. I have two classic styles in pink and blue denim, and two platform-wedge styles; in black and this taupe color. Both styles are comfortable, however, the platform style gives you so much cushion, so they offer even more comfort.

In order to present my new espadrilles to you, I decided to go with a rustic look composed with earth-tone colors. As many of you know, a neutral colored look doesn't have to be boring; it can be as fun as a color-blocked look with bright colors. Just make sure to add a unique and fun accessory, which, in this case, every single piece seems to be have both characteristics.

My button down shirt has a purposely-done wrinkled look in order to bring a touch of carelessness to my ensemble. I was going for an earthy/boho/rustic look, so I couldn't find better pieces in my wardrobe to roughen up the look of my preppy espadrilles. And, of course, living near Old Salem, I knew that there wasn't going to be any problems finding a great area for this photo shoot that coordinates well with my outfit.

I know this is focused on your espadrilles - which I love - but I also have to say that your midi skirt is fabulous! I was always afraid they would look frumpy on me, but you make them look so classy and beautiful that I went out recently and bought one, and I love it! Your whole outfit is just perfect - I love it from head to toe!!

  2. Cathy, I'm so glad you took the plunge and purchased one. These skirts are universally flattering, however, I totally understand your fear, in fact, I had the same fear myself many years ago. Now, I'm in love with midi skirts.

Can you believe I have never owned espadrilles though that's about to change after reading your post. Thank you!
