Yes, I'm talking about the wedge espadrilles; this is the most versatile, warm weather shoe I've ever come across. Whenever I doubt what to wear with my Spring and Summer ensembles, I immediately reach for my espadrille wedges. These classic shoes, besides bringing a touch of femininity to my outfits, can also be as comfortable as sneakers. Being only 5'4", I appreciate the fact that they can help me to prevent looking stumpy with certain outfits like, for example, with this short jumpsuit.
I bought these pink espadrilles almost 15 years ago and as a matter of fact, they were my first pair of Christian Louboutin shoes. But you don't have to go high-end to enjoy a great pair of espadrilles; the truth is that nothing beats a good pair of espadrilles from the traditional makers like Casa Crespo or Castañer. In fact, my latest pair is by Castañer, and I must confess, I don't have anything like it in my closet. They've become my staple shoes this year; not only because of their incredible craftsmanship but also for their consistent comfortability.
