Fashionably Late With The Cropped Flare Jeans Trend

April 28, 2017

I've been reluctant to the idea of purchasing a pair of flare cropped jeans. Being petite, it's a little scary to try on trends that will probably make me look shorter. I didn't want to commit to a new pair yet, so instead, I shortened a couple of old pairs (not quiet flare) in order to warm up to this trend. I like the way they look on many bloggers and street-style gals, so why shouldn't I try them for myself? (see a couple looks here, here and here)

After receiving a few compliments about my DIY cropped jeans and convincing myself that they can be flattering for the vertically-challenged gal like me, I finally decided to take the plunge and purchase a pair from one of my favorites denim brands.
This pair, of course, is more fitted, therefore, a tad more flattering than my loose styles. So far, I'm very happy with the way they look with heels, but I don't think I will wear them with flats. I can honestly say that I'm very glad that I decided to embrace the trend and that I took my time to do so.
If you think about it, this is a budget-friendly way to warm up to certain trends before spending your hard-earned cash on something that you're unsure about. Another way to practice this warm-up process is by finding these styles at a thrift store or even vintage. If you find yourself wearing them a lot, then you will know that it's safe to invest in a newer style.
