To me, denim is the most laid-back fabric and yet the most versatile, therefore, a staple in my small wardrobe. For the days that I don't want to dress up but I still want to look presentable to go places, I tend to gravitate to denim. That being said, jeans aren't the only denim garments out there to achieve a laid-back look. As you can see in this outfit, a denim dress can be as casual and versatile as jeans can be.

My denim dress layered with neutral colored knits and paired with comfortable boots, was an easy way to make it casual enough for a walk through mother nature, and presentable enough for going lunch with my husband.
I'm lucky to live in North Carolina. The weather is always kind to us by gradually introducing us to season changes. We have the opportunity to slowly adjust to the new temperatures and add or remove layers on our outfits.
