City Tribal

June 17, 2013

Tribal prints are very close to my heart, because back on the coast of Honduras our Garifunas tribes (African) and the Mayans that live in the mountains wear them all the time. I did not only embrace their dances, I also learned how to mix and match patterns and color-block from their daily attires. So naturally, I am a pattern mixer by heart and this outfit pretty much represents my style. It is interesting how many times we can get inspired by sources such as street style, magazines or runways...however, at the end we find ourselves finalizing the outfit with our own personal touches, which in my case they come straight from my roots. How about you? Do you have a source of fashion inspiration that you want to share?

I grew up in a small Brazilian village, so most of my cuisine and fashion inspirations comes from my childhood there. This is a short and sweet post, thanks for sharing your sources of inspiration.
