One of the reasons why I love nautical-inspired looks is because they involve stripes. I love all stripes, but the ones with maritime vibes are my very favorite because they are classic and easy to style. Stripes to me are foundational in my wardrobe, therefore, I'm always finding fun ways to style them. If you like stripes as I do, then you are visiting the right blog.
Today, my foundational piece was my marinieré and the rest of this look was styled around this top. First I decided to coordinate the color of the stripes with other pieces such as my red pants and my navy and white beaded bag. But I love to wear classics with a fun twist, so I needed one or two pieces that screamed juxtaposition. Animal prints aren't nautical at all, therefore, a pair of leopard flats seemed to be a good idea and too much fun to pass up. I styled this look as if I were a cooler day of Autumn, and that's why I added a biker jacket that obviously brought a tad of edge and, extra juxtaposition. By they way, my jacket is a new acquisition that replaced my vintage biker and my Muuba jacket.
