Monday Work Outfit - How To Style A Plaid Suit In Spring

March 19, 2018

This week's Monday Work Outfit is brought to you in collaboration with JD Williams. I continue to work with this fashion and style company because I'm totally loving the workmanship of their garments (see more collaborations with them here, here, and, here) and many of them are right up my alley. This time, I chose another wide-legged pantsuit but with a timeless plaid print. By the way, after looking all the fashion shows for Fall/Winter of 2018, I noticed that glen plaid is again stealing the spotlight. This doesn't surprise me because, as we know, glen plaid print is by far one of the most versatile.
Just take a look here at how I styled mine. I wore it with white and natural material pieces in order to give its look a Spring-friendly and light approach. Transitional dressing can be so much fun because you can create interesting combinations for work by mixing pieces from two different seasons.

Take a closer look at my outfit and, as I said above, you will see that I styled it with lighter pieces such as a cotton lace blouse, mother of pearl earrings and a rope belt. These three pieces scream spring-time because they are made of cotton and natural elements. The same goes with my vintage leather boots and vachetta leather bag... both have a bohemian/light touch, therefore, they're perfect to bring a bit of casualness to this suit. When the weather gets warmer, you can also style this suit with a classic pair of cotton espadrilles.
As you can see, adding all these light and natural material pieces to my suit helped to make it less formal and yet still professional. By the way, I'm very fond of the color of this suit, because it has brown and grey hues which in my opinion, it makes it more versatile. Depending on the lighting, you can see either color showing off more than the other. It's just fabulous!
